Middlesex University is based in north London. It originally arose from the merger of several universities in the 1970s. In 1992 it received its present name “Middlesex University”.
The internationally recognized university currently offers a total of 143 bachelor’s and 130 master’s courses. Around 1,700 employees look after around 37,000 students – including over 700 doctoral students – making Middlesex University one of the largest universities in Great Britain. In London, the university currently has almost 20,000 students.
Middlesex University is accredited by the QAA (Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education of UK) and has an excellent World Ranking. The university has also received 3 “Queen’s Anniversary Prizes for Higher and Further Education” and according to the “HEFCE Research on National Student Survey” it is one of the top three London universities in the areas of teaching and learning. In 2016, Middlesex University successfully completed another system accreditation by the British Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA).
Middlesex University was granted the right by the British Parliament to award university degrees to foreign institutions (degree awarding power). The university currently works with over 80 partner institutions in the UK and abroad and is also one of the universities with the highest number of international students. A campus was opened in Dubai as an international branch of Middlesex University in 2004, another in Mauritius in 2009 and since September 2013 there has also been a campus in Malta. Through some international academic partners. Distance learning (often in the local language) is also possible at Middlesex University.
Since 2011, German-language distance learning courses have been offered by Middlesex University with the organizational support of KMU Akademie & Management AG. At the beginning there was an MBA distance learning course with 8 different focal points – this has since been continuously expanded (now 18 focal points), a flexible MBA course was also added in the summer of 2019, a bachelor’s degree was added in June 2012, in January 2014 a doctoral program and in October 2015, a Master of Science (MSc) course was added to the program.
And since the beginning of 2023, a doctorate (Doctor of Business Administration – DBA/Dr.) in English can also be completed via distance learning and organizational support of KMU Akademie & Management AG.
